DESCRIPTION:Race day events on March 8 include a marathon\, half-marathon and marathon relay\, all starting at 7:30 a.m.\; a 5K race starting at 7:35 a.m.\; and a kids marathon starting at 8:00 a.m. Participants and volunteers can register online at www.RunHardColumbiaMarathon.com\, or call (803) 414-9508 more information.\n\nA portion of race proceeds will benefit Run Hard\, an 8-week afterschool running program that prepares boys (ages 8-14) for a 5K race while teaching healthy lifestyle habits\, core values and leadership skills. Run Hard is currently offered in 19 elementary and middle schools throughout Richland and Lexington counties. This and other competitive youth sports programs are managed by Crossover Athletics\, a local 501(c)3 that promotes character education and core values through sports and athletic achievement.
