DESCRIPTION:The School Improvement Councils of Lexington Elementary\, New Providence Elementary and Lexington Middle schools host a Meet the Candidates forum\, Tuesday\, October 23\, 2012.\n\n \n\nThe event takes place at 6:30 p.m. in the Theater of Lexington Middle School and is free and open to the public. Lexington Middle School is located at 702 North Lake Drive.\n\n \n\nEach candidate will answer three randomly selected questions. There will be a two minute time limit per question and response.\n\n \n\nFollowing the question period\, the candidates will have one minute to talk about why they think they are "the best qualified candidate."\n\n \n\nThis event provides parents\, staff\, students and other community members an opportunity to meet the 12 candidates running for four seats on the school board. All 12 candidates are invited.\n\n \n\nBoard members Albert J. Dooley Jr. and D.F. Shumpert III are "retiring" from the school board after serving 16 and 13 years respectively. Two other incumbents\, Cynthia S. Smith and G. Edwin Harmon\, PH.D.\, are running for re-election.\n\n \n\nOther candidates running are Rutu P. Bhonsle\, Toyeka Campbell\, Hazel Porth Duell\, Anthony Feraci\, Janet B. Frazier\, Rhonda Wanamaker Gunter\, Jean N. Haggard\, Deborah Kelderman\, Dr. Brent Powers and Theodore J. Zee.
