DESCRIPTION:Get an insider's look at the diverse wildlife living in Riverfront Park during a free guided walks in June hosted by the City of Columbia Parks & Recreation Department. \n\n\n\nParticipants will tour areas of Riverfront Park with the City's park rangers to learn about the animals such as birds\, turtles\, bugs and more who call Riverfront home. \n\n\n\nGuests are encouraged to bring binoculars and field guides as well as any essentials like water\, sunscreen\, bug repellent\, hats and sturdy walking footwear. \n\n\n\nThe following walks are free and open to the public: \n\n\n\nTuesday\, June 21:\n\nFish Passage: Wildlife Walk at Riverfront Park (North entrance)\, 4122 River Drive\, from 6-7pm. Learn about the historic Columbia Canal\, the Broad River Diversion Dam and the Fish Passage. Participants will discuss the history\, design and ecological importance of the Fish Passage. Meet at Riverfront Park's River Drive parking lot at 6pm. \n\n\n\nSaturday\, June 25:\n\nBird Walk at Riverfront Park\, 312 Laurel Street\, from 9 to 10:30am. On this ranger guided walk\, participants will learn about the diverse birds found in the park. Participants should meet at Riverfront Park's Laurel Street parking lot at 6am.\n\n\n\nTuesday\, June 28:\n\nWildlife Walk at Riverfront Park (North entrance)\, 4122 River Drive\, from 6-7pm. Discover the abundant and diverse wildlife that inhabit Riverfront Park. Meet at Riverfront's River Drive parking lot at 6pm.
