Bomb Island is our destination, the largest purple martin sanctuary in North America. Close to one million purple martins converge on the island each year before making a grueling 2,000 to 5,000 mile-long journey to their wintering grounds in Mexico or South America.
Watch purple martins arrive overhead from every direction and form a circling funnel cloud of birds.
