Bring back the Monarch & Milkweed

"Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee." You don't need to be Mohammed Ali to learn how to think like a butterfly as you garden to bring back monarch and native milkweed populations to your yard. Find out how to tag migrating monarchs in fall in your backyard way station. This workshop is being conducted by Dr. Arlene Marturano, garden writer, master gardener, children's garden expert, science educator and founder of the SC Garden-based Learning Network, who has been tagging migrating monarch butterflies since Monarch Watch started the tracking in 1992. She initiated and directs the Monarch, Milkweed, and Migration Project at the Center for Science Education at USC, in Columbia, with pre- and in-service teachers and their students.
